Reviews

  • A 10th grade biology student

Very well done McGraw Hill! This book outlines the big picture, as well as the small details in all different forms. It is well organized, and has great graphics. By far, the best part of this textbook, is the review section at the end of each chapter- really prepared me for class.

I downloaded the sample and it looks great. Just wondering how the chapters and pages compare to that of the written text? Is it easy to navigate ti a specific chapter and section?
  • Teacher' edition?

Sample looks fabulous. Any chance of getting a teachers edition so we can actually replace the traditional textbook?
  • Fun to read

A great book for basic biology. There are, however, several mistakes. I would have thought that the book could be updated just like apps, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
  • Misinformation can be harmful

Misinformation can be harmful. To address the download problem, the book is 1.5 gigabytes! That is a lot of information that is traveling through the air to a wireless connection. The book will go into your iCloud account. You will have to download this book a few times through your iCloud account before you get the full book. At first I thought the reviews about the failure to download this book was true. It is not, be persistent. Maybe the publishers of the book should have warned us about the slow download and the need to be persistent. The book has many videos and pictures to help illustrate biological concepts. I wish that the publisher would release teacher editions to this book. I have not gone through all of the chapters, but so far so good. In short the book does download, be persistent.
  • Too many mistakes!

This would be a great book, if it was not filled with errors. When students in my lowest level of class are finding mistakes, you know there is something wrong, and it isn't just a couple. Magraw-Hill will not refund money or update the book
  • Great but...

It is really great I was so excited when it was downloading then it finished & now as I flip through some pages it just crashes on me every time on that one section please fix. Thank you

I still haven't been able to get this stupid book to download. I bought the other one and it downloaded right away. What a waste of money! Don't buy this one, get the other!
  • Great visuals, spotty text

Looks great, and interactive features are useful, especially flash cards. But the text is sloppily edited and proofread. The text itself should not be regarded as of secondary importance, no matter how many bells and whistles are added to the visual aspects. Hire a copy editor.
