Catholic doctrine teaches that if a person dies in a state of mortal sin, then that person will spend eternity in hell. But nearly all Catholics don't know that they can commit a mortal sin simply by voting for a pro-choice candidate, according to the many bishops and Church authorities quoted in this book. These ecclesiastics boldly teach that: 1) there is a specific hierarchy of issues for Catholic voters to consider, 2) abortion is the most important issue for a Catholic voter, and 3) it can be a mortal sin for a Catholic to vote for anyone other than the most anti-abortion, or most electable anti-abortion, candidate in any given election.
