Description

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends with Us and It Starts with Us!

Moving, passionate, and unforgettable, Colleen Hoover's novel follows two young adults from completely different backgrounds embarking on a tentative romance, unaware of what the future holds.

After a childhood filled with poverty and neglect, Beyah Grim finally has her hard-earned ticket out of Kentucky with a full ride to Penn State. But two months before she’s finally free to change her life for the better, an unexpected death leaves her homeless and forced to spend the remainder of her summer in Texas with a father she barely knows.

Devastated and anxious for the summer to go by quickly, Beyah has no time or patience for Samson, the wealthy, brooding guy next door. Yet, the connection between them is too intense to ignore. But with their upcoming futures sending them to opposite ends of the country, the two decide to maintain only a casual summer fling. Too bad neither has any idea that a rip current is about to drag both their hearts out to sea.

This is NOT Colleen’s best work. Like I can only take so many sobs stories back to back to back without any plot. It’s exhausting. It’s like a trauma fest. No thanks.

This one had me in tears near the end. Pulled a bit at the heart strings. Her sense of loneliness was very relatable and reading her journey was healing.
  • No longer a fan.

Won’t be reading any Colleen Hoover books after hearing about her trying to cover up Sexual Harassment! Best selling authors should be held to higher standards and take accountability.

Colleen Hoover never disappoints. This book was refreshing! I’ve read so many mediocre books lately I was beginning to think I’d lost my passion for reading. Nope! Just reading the wrong books. I’m so glad I’m reminded of good authors and good books! This one is a must read. I read it in a day and a half!

Such an endearing heartfelt and harrowing coming of age story about a girl who had the odds of life stacked against her. Her mother was an addict, she was a lonely hungry angry and neglected little girl exposed to gross abuse neglect and the dark souls of addiction. When her mother dies, she contacts her father whom she’s estranged from. She moved into his house and falls in love with a local boy from the beach town. But as much as he’s good and caring to her, he is holding dark secrets of his own. When they unexpectedly catch up to him Beyah is left alone to suffer through heartache and has finally admitted that her mother is dead to her dad after living with him for the 3 months she was in his home over the summer. The end of her story and the beginning of Samsons is so heartwarming and heavy I cried happy tears and was thrilled these two kids had finally found some good in life and it’s circumstances
