Description

One of C.S. Lewis's most intriguing works gains new clarity in Providence eLearning's A Companion to The Great Divorce. In this video enhanced companion text to C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce, C.S. Lewis scholar, Arthur Hippler, Ph.D., analyzes each chapter of Lewis's imaginative work in text and video form. The Great Divorce tells the tale of a busload of souls from Hell as they visit Heaven, focusing on the conversations overheard there between the souls in Heaven and the souls from Hell.

Created to complement the reader's experience of Lewis's The Great Divorce, this multitouch companion provides commentary primarily based on appropriate readings from Scripture, other texts of Lewis himself, and the works of Lewis's mentor, George MacDonald, to assist the reader not only in going deeper into Lewis's thought, but also into the various moral and spiritual issues that he raises.

Dr. Hippler will open a whole new side of the work and further expound upon the main premise: reality presents us with ultimate choices - with an “either-or” for Heaven or Hell. For the ghosts are not in Hell as a result of moral confusion or bad upbringing, but instead they have chosen to be there.
