Sara Pezzini no longer possesses the Witchblade. Realizing the danger it would attract to her unborn child, Sara chose to give up the powerful Artifact and passed it to a new bearer, Danielle Baptiste, who is still learning to control the Witchblade. The child's impending birth has set into motion events that will lead to war between the Angelus and the Darkness, the primal forces of Light and Dark in the universe.
