A dark fantasy romance short story.
Bound by an oath to marry one of two princes whose armies will decide who takes her as the prince's bride, Leani does not want either. She wants to fall in love in love with her husband, and both princes are too cruel for her to ever love them. Having prayed to the goddess of marriage and been refused, she must visit the god of death, Master of Roads, who, she has been told, does not listen to the prayers of women. Unwilling to see any more death, she must find her way to his temple and hope she has been told wrong. But can the god of death promise a life with love?
