Description

The existence of different tiers of escalation for ethics concerns means that employees do not have to meet an arbitrary risk threshold before blowing the whistle on behaviors or systems that worry them. There are systems in place for minor concerns to be relayed to managers, or for process-specific concerns to be directed towards designated teams that focus on handling those issues. For an employee to feel obligated to blow the whistle and alert regulatory agencies or the general public to a concern, there would have to be an exceptionally egregious violation of ethical obligations, or a failure of the internal systems to handle these concerns.

In this E.G.F.G. Series we discuss the paradox within power and pressure.
