"The Disinherited" is a short story by Henry Kuttner, first published in Astounding Science Fiction magazine in March 1943. The story follows the adventures of an interstellar traveler, Temuchin, as he journeys through the universe in search of a new home. The story begins when Temuchin is left stranded on a distant planet, without any means of communication with the rest of the universe. He soon discovers that the planet is a prison planet, and the inhabitants are descendants of criminals who were exiled here centuries ago. Temuchin finds himself among the "disinherited," a people who have been denied their rights and treated as second-class citizens by the ruling class. Temuchin's search for a new home takes him through a variety of strange and dangerous places, including a frozen world of ice and snow, a planet of giant robots, and a mysterious city run by a mysterious organization. Along the way, Temuchin discovers a hidden plot by the ruling class to keep the disinherited oppressed and powerless. With the help of his new allies, Temuchin is able to thwart the plans of the ruling class and free the disinherited from the tyranny they have been living under.
