Volker Poelzl is an Austrian-born freelance writer, photographer, and world traveller who lives in the US. His interest in Brazil was inspired by the country’s wealth of music which he discovered playing the guitar. He lived in Rio de Janeiro to study Portuguese and was involved in an agroforestry project in the Amazon. Volker Poelzl has travelled extensively all over Brazil and returns every year to explore the hidden parts of this beautiful and fascinating country. He also enjoys travelling in the footsteps of explorers and has descended several jungle rivers in his canoe.
