From beginnings as a tiny puppy to her adventures in Colorado helping her hearing-impaired handler, this interactive book combines photographs, video, and interactive content for the young reader. Text is combined with audio dictation. CCI offers four types of assistance dogs. These dogs serve a wide range of people with disabilities, including those with multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, hearing loss and developmental delay. CCI is supported entirely through the generosity of donors and receives no government funding. There is no charge to the participants for the dog. The author, a CCI graduate, asks that you consider a donation to Canine Companions for Independence so that others with disabilities have the opportunity to have their lives enhanced by a highly trained CCI assistance dog.
