“Wild Duck” by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen is a very famous play. It was first published in 1884. The Norwegian title of the play is “Vildanden.”

Several critics consider “Wild Duck” as Henrik Ibsen’s masterpiece. The play very skillfully recounts the fatal effects of what Ibsen termed the ‘life lie,’ some kinds of delusions which a person needs to escape from the harsh reality which is intolerable for the person.
